JPS in Claude

JPS is Joël's Personal Shlack from BookLikeJoël. Tell it the trip the way you would tell a person. It compares award mileage prices and can keep watching for a match.

Inside Claude, JPS searches live award inventory and manages your private watches. It does not book seats, transfer points, or take payment in the chat.

Connect in Claude

When JPS appears in Claude's Connectors Directory, open Customize → Connectors, choose BookLikeJoël / JPS, and click Connect. Claude then starts the BookLikeJoël sign-in.

If you add it yourself as a custom connector:

1. Open Claude, then Customize → Connectors.
2. Add a custom connector (Owners add this for Team and Enterprise plans).
3. Paste https://www.booklikejoel.com/mcp. Leave client ID and secret blank — JPS uses public OAuth with PKCE.
4. Click Add, then Connect.

Enable the connector for the conversation from Claude's tools menu after it is connected.

Sign in with OAuth

1. Claude sends you to BookLikeJoël at https://www.booklikejoel.com.
2. Enter the email for your JPS account.
3. We email a one-time sign-in code. Enter that code on the BookLikeJoël page.
4. Claude receives access to read your searches and watches, and to change watches only when you ask.

New accounts can be created during this sign-in. Verify the emailed code before the free live search can run. You can disconnect JPS later in Claude's connector settings.

Example search

After connecting, ask Claude something like:

Search JPS for one passenger, New York to Athens, November 21 or 22, business or first.

Claude should interpret that request, then run a live search (for example origin NYC or JFK, destination ATH, cabin business or first, one traveler). A successful search can use your one free live search, or one search from monthly JPS access. Award results can change; confirm the flight, miles, taxes, and seats with the loyalty program before you transfer points.

Watches need a clear ask

A watch keeps checking award space and can email you if a matching seat appears. Starting, changing, extending, or stopping a watch changes your account. Claude must wait for a clear request from you before those tools run:

• Start — only after you confirm the trip details. This can use a watch credit or monthly access.
• Modify — only after you say what to change (cabin, stops, airlines, programs, or email/SMS notices).
• Extend — only after you ask to add more checks. This resumes or lengthens an existing watch.
• Stop — only after you ask to end future checks. Past verification receipts stay available.

If monthly access is required and you do not have it, JPS explains that in Claude. Payment happens on the BookLikeJoël website, not inside the chat.

Price

One free live award search after you verify your email. After that, JPS monthly access is $9.99 a month, cancel anytime, sold on booklikejoel.com/join. Active monthly access includes eligible live searches and watches. JPS never starts Stripe checkout from Claude.

What JPS does not do in Claude

• It will not book, hold, or issue tickets.
• It will not transfer points or open an airline checkout.
• It will not invent seats, miles, taxes, or booking links.
• It will not return payment, purchase, or membership checkout links.

Award inventory is controlled by airlines and loyalty programs and can disappear after a result is shown. Always confirm on the program's own site before you act.
